An unofficial day in the life of a public transportation planner. NEPA is my game & documentation is what I do. Tweets & opinions are my own & don’t represent my employer.
As I approached the District on 66 on my drive to DC last night, I found myself immediately drawn to the structures in the center of the highway. The blue lights lining the corridor drew my gaze like bugs to a bug zapper. I counted at the trains pulling in and out of the stations. I thought about how the platforms, bridges and structures; how something as simple as steel and concrete could transform travel patterns, development and the overall future of an environment. People for generations are changed by something as simple as public transportation. What is it about transit?
